Ryan Holmes

Associate Director of Chemistry, Prelude Therapeutics

Ryan Holmes earned his BS in Chemistry and Biochemistry from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 2015 and his PhD in Organic Chemistry from Yale University, where he trained under Prof. Seth Herzon and conducted research on the enantioselective synthesis of the complex tetraterpenoid natural product (–)-gukulenin A. Following his doctoral studies, he entered industry and joined the medicinal chemistry department at Prelude Therapeutics, where he has contributed to the discovery and development of small-molecule inhibitors, heterobifunctional degraders, and antibody–drug conjugates.

Ryan currently serves as Associate Director of Chemistry at Prelude Therapeutics, leading medicinal chemistry and bioconjugation efforts focused on the discovery of novel ADC payloads and linker–payload architectures. He is an active contributor to the scientific community as a co-inventor on multiple patents, an author of peer-reviewed publications, and a mentor to early-career scientists.
